Hey, I read the idea about using a word or picture sort. Don't you think that would be a little difficult to do as a sub? You don't even know what you're going to be teaching until you go into the classroom. I think it would be better to just have a more general, easy game for the kids to play, like simon says or bingo, which can be used for a number of different things right on the spot. In fact, I'd like to make a list of games that are similar in nature to take into the classroom so I can be prepared for anything. Any ideas?

My district in broward co, FL copies off the SubStuffer from the STI newsletter for all us subs - all those activities would be great for the last days of school or any other time. I've collected like 15 of them for my sub pack.

Thanks for your idea. That would be a great start. Are those activities under "SubResources/Newsletter Archives" because I didn't see any in there. Or do you have to register for something online?

I asked my district, and they said only administrators have access to the online archives...then they can copy it off for their subs. Ask you district if they get the "SubExchange" from STI - that's where the substuffers come from.
