What are some good things to do when you have a class that is constantly talking? What are some good ways to deal with the students after you tell them to quiet down? I subsitute kindergarten through fifth grade. What about a good website that I can look on for some good classroom management? Thanks a lot for all of your help in advance. Sincerely, Scott French

Hi Scott. Managing a classroom is a difficult task to master. There are a lot of resources available, but most are for permanent teachers such as Harry Wong's First Days of School. If you are looking for material that is specific for substitute teachers we recommend the Substitute Teacher Handbook or the Classroom Management Audio CD, both can be found at STEDI.org. Some free resources are the monthly SubSuggestions Newsletters that are sent out and the blog: STEDI.org/blog. Best Wishes!
