There are two assessment "tests" on the web - one does not involve a cost and one does.
SubStrength Finder is designed as a pre-training assessment. Some districts, like Austin ISD - make it mandatory so data can be collected as to what type of training should be offered to substitute teacher applicants - classroom management, teaching strategies, etc. This is available twice - if you should need more attempts, call the main office at 1-800-922-4693
SubAssessment is designed to "assess" how well someone has learned the material in the Substitute Teacher Handbook and the online training called SubInstructor. SubAssessment is divided in 5 separate areas and allows four attempts in each of those areas to achieve the best score. There is a payment associated with this test
